To my forever Love,
It's that time of the year. That time where you add a little +1 to your age. A little number that represents the passing of time, yet it doesn't take into account all the amazing moments we lived together.
If we add all our moments together, we could easily add a +100 to our ages. All the laughs, smiles, farts, successes, failures and tears we go through in a year bring us closer and make us inseparable. Our love keeps growing and we know each other more than we know ourselves sometimes.
Such a crazy year for some, but such a glorious year for us. We are spend more time together, with our 3 beautiful children and maximizing every second. We were finally able to feel what it is to be alone as family unit, yet together as family members.
If I could marry you 40 times again, I would over and over and over. You are my jackpot. Biggest bang for my buck (literally, you made two babies instead of one when we thought we might have none). I can never thank you enough for being my wife, the mother of our children, our inspirational figure, our stabilizing rock, our healer, the sexiest woman in the world, the purest joy in our lives, the glue of our family and Bowser's Mama.
Your birthday theme this year is overall Home Improvement.
- 8am At the beginning of our days, we are like a dream team with the kids. From picking them up from their beds, to entertaining them, to feeding them and then getting to work (on the kitchen counter). You are like a superhero and I am your sidekick. Your first gift is a brand new semi-automatic barista-style coffee machine. Something that let's us make coffee manually, but that also has automation for those days where we can't seem to wake up easily. I want our kids to remember us making coffee for each other every morning and hugging each other while we take our first sips.
- 3pm To celebrate your 40th in style, we OBVIOUSLY have to drink Champagne. 4 amazing bottles for 4 decades of you on this Earth. Pick one or two and let's enjoy them today! Strawberries on the side though, this is top champagne here. Oh yeah, 4 decades mean 4 dozen roses too. Finally, we get to fill our house with beautiful flowers!!!
- 3pm Then mid-day, we love going outside. I know how much YOU do. I also know how much I enjoy being with you and the kids. Their laughter and joy playing outside. So I got you something for outside. To jumpstart our backyard plans symbolically, I got you a big ass umbrella we can use to cover our deck without standing in the middle of our table. You'll be able to stay outside even more - even when you need to take a break from the sun (which never happens to my knowledge!).
- 5pm But first, let's have some pizza and cake.
- 6pm We also got you a nice pajama so that you can decompress and fall asleep properly at the end of each eventful day. What is a day if you don't put your ALL into it? That's what you do since the first day I met you. You pour your life, soul and heart into each thing you do, each day. I love you for that, and obviously you're my little weirdo.
4pmYou always say, home is where WE are. So an important part of our home is our health. When we're healthy, we feel at home, we feel perfect, we feel great. Not only am I so happy that we started working out, but I am even happier that we are encouraging each other to do so. To keep the momentum going, we got you shirts and shorts for running. For your 40th birthday, I say we both commit to run 40km over 40 days - that's 40 days to get healthier together. You ready?
Now that we have brought some Home Improvement for your birthday, let's sit down, relax and open a bottle of wine. Let's start seriously planning our backyard and make it a reality. You deserve more than you will ever know. You are my everything and a big part of many people's lives.
I love you as much as if I knew you for 40 years. To another 40 years of happiness, health and success.
Your husband
Chris
